A small voice said in the back of his mind. She would be in danger then.

He simply blinked at the rather blunt voice and smiled, even if he had just been insulted.

He looked down at Sun and kissed her brow lightly.
“I must say that leaving will be hard. Try not to cry, love.”
He teased, his fingers playing with her hair. He doubt she would cry, at least not in front of him.

“No, it just surprised me is all. I didn’t tell you after all. I suppose you could call it my real name while D is just a nickname.”
He explained, cradling her in his arms. He would leave a number. He wasn’t sure where the idea came from but it refused to leave afterwards. He didn’t want to leave her. Azra’il panted as he held his weapons firmly in his hands. He stood in a pool of blood that reached his knees, a mix between his enemies and his own. He hadn’t questioned, hadn’t thought. His only thought was to finish the job and be done with it.

“Pl…PLEASE!!!!! I DIDN’T DO ANYTHING WRONG!”

Azra’il didn’t flinch as blood hit his face, the woman’s head rolling a few feet away. He wasn’t finished. No, there was one more who needed to die. He paused, cocking his head to the side to listen. A muffled rustling told him where his next target lies. He teleported himself to the old man’s side, who was desperately trying to hide away the millions of child pornography that he was selling.

“I believe burning them would have been better. You know, instead of throwing them in the river to be found.”
Azra’il whispered, trailing his blade down the old man’s spine.
“I should thank you though for making such a mistake. I wouldn’t have had the pleasure of slaughtering everyone just to get too you. He let go of his sword to grab the man’s ear and sliced it off with his dagger. He continued torturing the man well into the dawn only stopping when the old man finally died of a heart attack. Cursing his bad luck, he grabbed his weapons and made his way towards the exit.

He paused in the back alley, finally allowing himself to breath before he made his way home. He didn’t think about the route, instead his thoughts drifting to a particular woman he had tried desperately to forget. When he came to his sense he was standing in front of a door attracting attention due to his clothes, though most of the humans thought he was just cosplaying.

Confused as to why his body had dragged him to this doorstep, he knocked.

“Azra’il…”

He flinched at finding her here rather than the actual use of his name. Damn it, this was wrong he should turn around and leave. He would have too, if he hadn’t noticed she was pregnant. He frowned as he leant against the doorframe.

“Is it mine?”
He felt horrible for asking, but they had already established they had no idea what she was. Perhaps she was like humans and could become pregnant by any one. He opened his mouth to apologize before snapping it shut. He had nothing to apologize for, he was being reasonable in asking. Even if the question held the underlying meaning that, she was a whore, not that he meant it that way of course.

He froze. What else could he have done? What could he do?

“Unfreeze and hug her.”

He would have if someone hadn’t walked into view at that point in time. His gaze narrowed as he assessed the new woman. He could feel her hesitance to leave and would have probably forced her removal if the bitch had stayed. He was glad when she left.

He didn’t move, still too engrossed in thought. He sighed after a few minutes, his gaze resting on her. He walked up to her and very carefully hugged her.
“You remember how I told you that I wasn’t human? I might have left out that I am Death. I haven’t fully developed my abilities, but it’s obvious who I am. I also know that you are my soul mate, how, because I was able to get you with child. I won’t ask you to be mine through human laws, but in every other sense than a piece of paper, will you be my wife?”

“Well aren’t you just diving in without giving her a chance to think. Don’t you think it’s a bit much for a woman to take in? I mean, you just revealed your DEATH for bloody sakes. Don’t bother to forget that you just revealed to her, who probably doesn’t even believe in soul mates, that you know she’s your soul mate. Then you ask her to marry you. Way to go, moron.”
The voice took a pause here before mumbling.
“I get stuck with this idiot.”

Azra’il almost spoke aloud to the voice in his mind, almost. He pulled back to look into her eyes, searching for something, anything.
“I’m sorry that was a bit much to lay on you at once.”

She had tried to call him! The guilt was instant. He had ignored her calls for the simple reason that he hadn't been ready. He had been a coward, yet if only he had answered. He would have found out about his child sooner.

"Yep, your a coward. Face up and take care of her now you idiot."
Azra'il growled aloud before remembering that Sun couldn't hear the voice. Perhaps he shouldn't share that bit of information.
"Or you could that way she understands why you just growled and why you will continue to growl"

The stupid voice actually sounded smug and Azra'il couldn't believe he just actually scoffed. He shook his head before explaining.
"I might sound crazy, probably am, but I wasn't growling at you. There's a little voice in my head. Maybe it's like Jimmy the Cricket from Pinocchio. I don't know but it only recently started to actually contain it's own personality."

He realized then how crazy it truly sounded.
"Of course you sound crazy. Jeez, and I'm not just a voice. I have a name as well you jerk. It's Micheal. I come with thhe significance that you are Death. I am basically here just to annoy you, well, that and give you advice on stuff. You seem to be doing alright on your own."

Azra'il just frowned wishing the stupid voice had a body and face other than his own so he could punch it. However, he turned his attention to Sun, his harsh gaze instantly softening.
"How far are you along? Do you know if it's a boy or a girl? Can you feel them move?"
His questions were one right after the other as he placed a hand on her tummy. He had always loved children, loved seeing an innocents that was lost to every adult and most children over the age of 4.
