Setting, Plot, and FQA

    Setting

Location: There are four separate starting packs/points.
The Yuuki Pack, pack one, is at the base of the Fire Rock, which is basically a giant rock that is always hot. Some points of it burn to step on and other points are actually melting. However, the base of the Fire rock is always cool, and there the first pack is, it is cold enough for the rocky part of the tundra to start.
Pack Two is on the sandy planes, next to the ocean. The water isn't completely frozen, but it is so cold that only the wolves with the thickest pelts can fall in without dying. Fishing and swimming is completely out of the question.
Heshon Pack (Pack Three) is also at the base of the Fire Rock, but this time it is in the Frozen forest. The trees are frozen solid, except near the Fire Rock, where there is some new growth. The ground crackles with frost.
Pack Four is in the frozen tundra, just away from the ocean. It is hard to tell where the ground ends and ice begins. Falling through the ice here would result in death, almost instantly. There is nothing but ice for miles.
Each wolf is traveling towards a 'bright light'. This light looks like a falling star and every night it pulses so brightly that it keeps the sky well lit. Certain wolves (the wolves that we will be RPing) are drawn to this light.
A/N: The packs shall be renamed as characters are made. If you are joining a pack that already has a name, scroll down and find out which wolf is already in it and then PM their creator and decide what relationship your wolves would have. They must have some sort of relationship, since they are going to come from the same pack. Please, try to keep all of your wolves from one pack.
A/N 2: Once this starts, the starting packs should be named. Any characters that join later can come from other packs than the first four, but if they come from the first four, you must work out a relationship with them and the other character(s) from that pack.

Time Period: There is no particular time in our world's history that this takes place. The animals are the size of those during the ice age, though there are some modern subspecies of wolves, cats, and other species. There are also random settlements of humans that possess guns.
Season: The starting season is spring. This means that the air is warmer, the Fire Rock is becoming more active, and hunting is easier everywhere.
    Map: Click For a Zoom
Every triangle is a days journey.
Following The Shift of the Moon (Open, Large Read) Th_StartMap

    Plot

Each character comes from a unique back story and territory. The world is stuck in a sudden freeze, leaving the ground brittle and frozen. Hunting it getting harder and the world isn't warming up as spring comes around. The packs are all worried. One night, a brilliant star slashes across the sky and careens into the ground. Every night, the light pulsed, brightening the sky and calling to some wolves. Those called can not resist the call for long as soon head for it. Some where chased and attacked, called traitors for leaving in hard times and others were given blessings and well wishes, for braving the world. Some had already lost their packs and families before the star appeared.
A/N: More shall be added as the wolves move on.

    F.Q.A.

Are we allowed to have more than one character?
You are allowed to have as many characters as you can manage.

Can we have characters that aren't wolves?
You must have two wolf characters before you make any nonwolves. You may make enemies that will try to hurt the main characters, however, you'll have to work the various attacks out with me. If you make a nonwolf that wants to travel with the wolves, you must have a solid reason in their past for them to be willing to work with wolves. You may not make a human character, however. This is a completely nonhuman roleplay.

Where do we post our character skeletons?
You should start a thread in [Randomness-->Characters] and then PM me a list of the characters you will be using. I will then check their skeletons and then add them to the accepted character list or PM you what you need to change.

If you have any other questions PM me with them.

Role Play Information

    Rules

    1. Follow the posting guidelines, appearance guidelines, and other information given on this post. The only reason your wolf should not completely fit the requirements is if you messaged me about it and we worked out some sort of agreement.
    2. Standard roleplay rules apply here. Do not powermode, do not godmode, no Mary/Gary Sues, do not kill with out permission, etc.
    3. Do not act out mating or pup birth. If you want to type out the mating scenes, we have PM, AIM, or whatever else. I don't want it on this thread. Please and thanks.
    4. Do not bump this thread unless there hasn't been a reply for more than a week. In that case, it would be preferred that you message whomever is next in line to reply.
    5. On a similar note, do not skip someone's turn. If you do not know whose turn it is, please message a friend that is on this thread or me. I will try to keep on top of it.
    6. This is a semi-realistic. A single wolf can not take down an elk, unless it is a pureblood dire and then it wouldn't be able to catch it, a Honshu wolf can not be a dire wolf in battle, etc,

rules are subject to change, Please check back from time to time

    Posting Guidelines

This should be things you already know, just a refresher.
  • Each post must a paragraph long, per character. This is a bare minimum: Four sentence per character. Longer posts are encouraged. There is no limit on how long your posts can or should be.
  • Move the plot ahead with each post. Do not type a whole paragraph moving it forward, especially if there is a conversation going on. Gradual steps forward are what is recommended.
  • When posting as more than one character be certain that the points of view are obvious. You can mark this by using separate font colors or styles, or you could type [character's POV] or something similar. Just so long as it is clear.
  • Styling font is always a bonus. Making it more fun to read. However, spend more time on content than on looks. Also, keep the font at a size, color, and style that it is easy to read and doesn't make the post seem disorganized. Do not have size 28 font with comic sans in rainbow.
  • Spelling and grammar should be checked. Small mistakes are passable, but if you think that there are many errors, copy and paste your text a program that has word. There are several different ones online.

    Appearnance Guidelines

  • Height and Weight:
Your character must be the right height and weight for their subspecies. If it is a mix of two subspecies it can not be the maximum height or weight for the larger of the two.
If you want your wolf to be taller/heavier than average, please PM me to discuss it.
Your character can be smaller than average, but that will be taken into account during fights and hunting and effect your success.
Please have weight to height proportions fairly even. Too thin or too heavy wolves will be rejected. It just takes a little logic.
  • Fur Color, Length, and Patterns:
Each species has its own fur length, but unless it was noted on the list below, you may describe the wolf however you want to. Short spiky fur or long, thick fur or anything in between.
The normal colors for a wolf are brown, tan, white, silver, gray, black, and russet. This colors will be accepted, but I am also encouraging members to go with odd colors, such as blue, or green, or red
There are the normal patterns for wolves: eye dots, chest, belly, muzzle, tail top, tail bottom, tail tip, shoulders, hips, back, etc. You may also go with symbols and other designs as long as you describe them in detail. Remember to list colors beside the patterns.
  • Head: This is so you can tell what colors are were on your wolf’s head and also tell if she/he has big ears, round ears, a sharp nose, thin muzzle, rounder cheeks, or whatever else.
  • Eye Color and Shape:
    Normal Shape: Almond Shaped
Abnormal, but accepted shapes: Circular, oval, diamond shaped, downward/upward sloped
Normal Colors: Gold, Green, Yellow, Brown, Black
Abnormal, but accepted colors: Any color you want
  • Build Just if anything is different about the wolf
  • Tail Long tail, short tail, blue tail, pink tip, etc

    Deities of the Wolves

You may pick one or more of the deities, just have a reason they follow them (born into that belief or if someone else taught them about it.

    Moon Deities
  1. Mother Moon A common belief that the moon is the soul of the oldest she-wolf, watching over her pups from the sky. When she wanes, she is mourning the loss of life. When she waxes, she is celibrating new life.
  2. The Moon Goddess A fairly standard belief for wolves, they believe that as long as they live a noble life, they shall become a star, one of the Moon’s army.
  3. The Moon Maiden The belief that the spirit of the moon takes the form of a human-like creature whom takes care of lost pups.
  4. The Moon Hunter The belief that the spirit of the moon takes the form of either a strong, grown wolf or a wizened, old wolf whom protects and leads his chosen wolves.
    Sun Deities
  1. Father Sun The balancing belief for Mother Moon, he is the proud leader of all of the packs. He gives life to their prey and watches over the pups as they play.
  2. The Sun King The male counter part of the Moon Goddess. He stands a lone in his place in the sky, judging the actions of the wolves below to decide if they are fit for the Moon Goddess.
  3. The Moon Maiden The sister of the Mood Maiden, she is a light brown she-wolf whom heals fallen warriors.
  4. The Sun Warrior The brother of the moon hunter, he takes the form of a tawny wolf. He leads true warriors in battle and protects them in their rest.
    Other Sky Deities
  1. The Six Star Sisters This is a rare belief, one that the sisters watch over all she-wolves. There is La whom is merely a pup, she keeps the oldest wolves company. There is Le whom is a yearling, she keeps the mothers safe and protects the future pups. There is Li whom is a young adult she-wolf, she guides the adult she-wolves through challenges. There is Lo whom is an adult she-wolf, she safeguards young adult she-wolves. There is Lu whom is a mother who lost her pups, she protects the yearlings as if they were her own. Finally, there is Ly, an old she-wolf, ready for the grave, whom tells the pups stories and protects them.
  2. Star Strider This is an uncommon belief that each star is a guardian for a wolf. The star of that wolf points the direction that the wolf should go.
  3. Cloud and Wind This is a fairly usual belief that the clouds and winds tell a story, from the color of the clouds to the speed of the wind, and each story is the future of the wolf.
Elemental Deities With these, most would pick one of each element. You can pick any you like.
  1. Fura The fire wolf, she protects only the bravest and leads them in battle.
  2. Fyra The fire wolf, he leads the strongest in the hunt.
  3. Pyre The fire wolf, she heals and safe guards the promised lands.

  11. Dira The earth wolf, she cradles the packs’ every step and keeps them safe from danger.
  12. Tick and Tock The earth siblings, they are the balance between protection and aggression.
